Key Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Deckhand Auxiliary II, your role will include but not be limited to:
Assisting with vessel navigation and maintaining watch duties under all weather conditions;
Fabricating, maintaining, and repairing all types of fishing gear;
Conducting monthly inspections and ensuring all onboard and shore-based safety equipment is in working order;
Performing minor mechanical repairs to the vessel;
Maintaining a clean, safe, and operational deck area;
Checking and repairing mooring lines to ensure vessel security.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Applicants must possess:
A Certificate of Secondary Education (Form IV);
A valid Certificate in one of the following areas: Master Fisherman, Nautical Science (NTA Level 4), or an equivalent maritime discipline;
A Mandatory Safety Certificate or Small Vessel Operators Safety Certificate from a recognized institution.
